Hulk vs. Thor Unleashes Marvel’s Strongest Avengers in New Art

Thor and the Hulk battle it out to determine the strongest avenger of all time, as the Banner of War crossover is coming to Marvel Comics

Warning! Spoilers for Hulk vs. Thor: Banner of War Alpha #1 below

In a brand new Marvel Comics cover showcasing the upcoming Banner of War bow crossover, Thor and the Hulk fight to determine the strongest Avenger ever. In an epic new wraparound cover from artist Geoff Shaw and colorist Federico Blee, multiple battles featuring the Jade Giant and the Mjolnir-wielding hero occur as the two Avengers duke it out in the hero-vs-hero fight.

Thor and Hulk are the two most powerful Avengers from the original superteam that first suited up in avengers #1 by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee back in 1963. Thor, the God of Thunder, is worthy of one of the most potent weapons in the Marvel Comics Universe, as few heroes or villains are capable of withstanding its mighty strength. Meanwhile, Hulk is a creation of science gone wrong, as Gamma radiation turned Bruce Banner into a monster who ranks among the strongest (in terms of pure physical strength) Avengers ever. Now, the two heroes are battling to determine who is mightier in an epic new crossover series.

Tea Banner of War crossover by Marvel Comics from Donny Cates, Martin Coccolo, and Gary Frank will occur across the current Thor and Hulk ongoing series, with the event starting in a one-shot Hulk vs. Thor: Banner of War Alpha #1. Previous teases for the Hulk vs. Thor battle have shown the God of Thunder undergoing his own Hulk-like transformation, while the Hulk is seen on another cover wielding Mjolnir. In a new wraparound cover from Geoff Shaw and Federico Blee (H/T @CBR) for the crossover event’s first chapter, Thor and Hulk fight in two different battles to be named the strongest Avenger.

Banner of War Crossover-2

On the left side of the image, Thor swings Mjolnir at the Hulk as the pair battle on the rainbow Bifrost Bridge in front of Asgard. On the right side, Hulk gets ready to take a massive swing as Thor, as the ground breaks beneath the two heroes on Earth.

Marvel pitting the two strongest Avengers against one another for a crossover event should feature some incredible, bombastic moments – as it seems neither hero is holding back. Thor and the Hulk rarely lose one-on-one fights, so to see the pair battle it out should be incredibly entertaining. Readers can see the heroes exchange blows when Hulk vs. Thor: Banner of War Alpha #1 by Marvel Comics arrives in comic book stores in June.
